Terms / review draft · 30 September 2026
Connect with care.
Review draft, not final contractual terms. The operator's legal name, address, jurisdiction, applicable consumer protections, and effective date must be confirmed before asking users to accept. Legal review is required for launch markets.
Operator
MailDial Oy, Pentagonveien 1, 1430 Ås, Norway. Contact: [email protected]. Company registration details remain to be confirmed before final publication.
Who may join
The intended minimum age is 16, or a higher age required where you live. Obtain guardian permission where applicable law requires it. Keep your account secure; never give someone your sign-in link, code, or session credentials.
What the pilot offers
MailDial provides a public number for private-destination email forwarding, a plain-text public Pool, and consent-based Circle contacts. Box displays delivery metadata; it does not store a private conversation inbox. Forwarding requires a verified destination. The app offers no file or image upload for messages, but ordinary email may contain attachments outside the app's interface. Availability and successful delivery are not guaranteed.
Private conversations when enabled
MailDial is preparing plain-text Box copies and private Circle talks; they are not active in the current pilot. If enabled after notice and testing, MailDial will use conversation text to deliver, display, protect, and support those conversations. The intended active-service retention is up to 90 days, followed by scheduled removal; account deletion may remove it sooner. No attachments are stored in those in-app conversations. External email applications and other people's inboxes are separate: MailDial cannot restrict their formats or erase their copies. These services are not end-to-end encrypted by MailDial. Backup and legally required exceptions need precise disclosure in the final privacy notice before activation.
Improving MailDial
MailDial may use limited service measurements, such as non-identifying aggregate delivery and reliability counts, to improve the service once their privacy safeguards are documented. This does not give MailDial an indefinite right to retain, read, republish, sell, or train on private conversation text. Any new use of message content would require a separate, clear legal basis and notice; the planned 90-day content limit is not silently extended by these Terms.
Your writing and choices
Keep ownership of your original writing. Give MailDial only the permission needed to store, display, and operate contributions you choose to submit, consistent with their visibility and retention. Post content you have rights to share. Community and clearly labeled fictional studio thoughts can remain in Pool for up to six months. A separate writer opt-in and review process is required for lasting Memoric publication. No reaction count or payment overrides that choice.
Pool safety
Before public posting, a planned automated check may decline clear threats, graphic violence, targeted hateful abuse, exploitation, or encouragement of self-harm. Sadness, grief, and non-graphic writing are not barred merely for being emotionally dark. Automated decisions can be imperfect; MailDial should provide a way to ask for a review when this feature is enabled. If the check cannot run, the thought stays unpublished.
Aura dust
Aura dust is a non-transferable activity metric, not money or a promise of rewards. A community thought earns 5 on publication. Once enabled, its owner earns 5 when another person first reacts and 5 for each new reply; changing or re-adding the same reaction earns nothing extra. Self-interactions and studio prompts do not earn interaction dust. When the mutual Circle feature is enabled, each person receives 5 after accepting a connection, once per account pair; declining or reconnecting gives no additional dust. We may address artificial engagement or abuse under these Terms.
Consent and privacy
Contact requests require acceptance before saving a person to Circle. Honor declined requests, blocking, and privacy. Never publish someone else's private mail or identifying details without permission. MailDial does not sell protection from its own deliberate privacy leaks. Purchased Aura/contact allowances are a proposal, not a current payment service.
Unacceptable use
No fraud, impersonation, threats, exploitation, harassment, doxxing, unlawful financial solicitation, spam, automated signup abuse, or attempts to steal credentials. Do not use identity renewal to evade restrictions. Report immediate danger to local emergency services. No screening system guarantees safety.
Renewal, moderation, and requests
Reborn changes a number and clears saved Circle links after deliberate confirmation; it is not full account or history deletion. Public content may be removed and access restricted for abuse or legal obligations, with explanation and an appeal channel where required. Contact support for privacy requests, account closure, or moderation questions. Never send passwords or sign-in codes.
Information actually held may be preserved or disclosed for verified lawful requests or a legally permitted, necessary safety response. This does not permit indiscriminate access or publication of private communications. See the privacy notice.
Changes and consumer rights
Material updates should be dated and communicated. Nothing in these draft terms seeks to waive mandatory consumer or privacy rights. Operator identity, governing law, dispute handling, and liability wording require appropriate jurisdiction-specific review before final publication.
